Welcome to Awash's applications, and thank you for your interest! Before applying, please be sure to read the FAQ!
For new players, there is an application cap of however many applications will bring us to the game cap of 80; we will only be reviewing the applications received that fit into that number.
For current players, there is no cap. Please feel free to submit an application for your second character if you would like to; that application will not count towards the application cap.
- Please note that a reserve is no longer required to app, as we will not be having a reserves round before application rounds any longer with the small number of slots that are open!
- Please paste your app into the comments; do not link to your application. This is for the sake of fairness when judging applications.
- Please do not delete and repost your application. That makes it difficult for the mods to keep count of how many applications have been submitted!
- If you receive revisions, you will have 48 hours to submit your revisions before the application is automatically declined.
- If your application is declined for any reason, you may contact the mods here or via PM for more information; however, there is no guarantee the decision will change.

Color: Please choose between red, blue or yellow; this can be chosen due to aesthetics or personality reasons. Please explain in a brief sentence why you chose that color. You're welcome to choose a particular Hexadecimal code if you have a preference, so long as it has not already been used in game, and fits within one of those three colors. Please do not choose a shade of green, purple or orange, as those will have a different role in the game!

Strengths:
CRYBABY - Seemingly a weakness, but is in fact Akira's main strength. Deeply sensitive and compassionate, Akira is attuned to the suffering of others far more than the average person. If they're in pain or distress, he will easily shed tears for them, even if they aren't willing to shed tears for themselves. He's even able to pick up on the feelings of someone as seemingly unfeeling as Ryo; when they were children, he insists Ryo is crying when the two of them fail to save a dying kitten, even if Ryo is unable to express or understand the emotion for himself. Even with strangers, he can intuitively pick up on what they're feeling, such as when he cries for Koda the first time they meet, despite not knowing that Koda was grieving for his dead lover.
KINDHEARTED - As an addendum to the above, because of his deep-seated empathy, Akira treats most people he meets with unconditional kindness. He befriends Ryo as a child when Ryo washed up alone as an amnesiac, becoming his only friend even when Ryo was hated by others for his behaviour. Akira's caring attitude leads him to follow Ryo even into mortal danger when he returns into his life later. While Akira doesn't have other friends besides him, he's also shown as being good with children -- he has a close relationship with Taro Makimura, who looks at him as an older brother.
PROTECTIVE - Preferring to do no harm to others, Akira is a sworn protector of humanity from demonkind. Even knowing he won't be accepted as a Devilman, he still fights demons and puts his own life on the line to protect humanity (and later, to save other Devilmen facing persecution). He's very protective of those close to him, particularly Miki, who he actively defends from anyone seeking to harm or take advantage of her; she in turn always thinks of Akira as the first person to turn to when she's in trouble. When he can't save someone, particularly his loved ones, this leads to guilt and despair.
Weaknesses:
NAIVE - Because of the unconditional kindness he shows to those close to him, this makes Akira incredibly trusting, to the point of being of being easy to manipulate. Often, he doesn't question Ryo's methods until it's too late, and even though Ryo repeatedly shows he places little value on human life, Akira's loyalty to him tends to blind him to the truth. Akira also struggles with concepts like why humans in general fight and kill each other, and is heartbroken when fellow Devilmen are hunted and killed instead of seen for the humans they really are.
HORNY ON MAIN - Akira's sex drive is far higher than a human's, and he doesn't particularly care who knows it. At school he takes over a room to screen porn on a big screen at full volume, he runs a race wearing athletic shorts tight enough to leave his bulge in clear view, and he tends to fantasise about himself with Miki. In general he tends not to act on these instincts beyond that, even if he clearly enjoys the attention and outrage he causes. His strong desire, however, leave him open to being preyed on by demons such as Silene, and he's almost killed in more than one instance because of it.
BERSERKER - If confronted with a demon, Akira will often fly into an aggressive rage, and fights with reckless abandon, revelling in hunting and killing any demons he comes across. Because of his tendency to run on emotion, all his intense feelings are poured into his hatred against demonkind in battle, whether it be with tears rolling down his face, furious snarling, or vicious grinning and laughter. This can inspire fear in weaker enemies, but it can also leave him wide open to severe injuries. No matter the wounds he sustains, if he becomes too emotional or filled with bloodlust, he won't stop until he tears apart his enemies or gets torn apart himself.
Powers/Abilities:
Other Noteworthy Traits: Can ride a motorbike, and eats like a horse.
Weapons & Other Special Inventory: Tako, the Makimura family cat and actually a Devilcat. In Devilcat form Tako can fly, temporarily blind and stun enemies by flashing the bulb-like appendage on his tail, can survive impalement, and can talk. These things are unlikely to come up ingame, as he pretends to be a normal black housecat, with Akira none the wiser for most of canon.
As his item, I'd like to bring in Akira's motorcycle from home.
Color: #D20000. Blood red symbolises Akira's passion and human heart, as well as the violence he endures to protect humans.
