We would like to bring forward a concern involving the over-arching plot of Awash.

Basically, several players are feeling disconnected from the plot of Awash. However they are still interested in the plot, would like open opportunity to be involved, and would like to be caught up on what has already happened.

Although it is right for players that put in time to play out plot-related events to get the rewards of such events, how such events are working now is having the (perhaps unintended) effect of shutting out players who are interested in the plot, but aren't able to get involved. Recently, much of the plot-related events have been concentrated around a handful of characters. Players, and characters, who are not involved with that handful of participants won’t even know that plot elements are available to be discovered. Events have been played out in generic catch-all posts, which are easily overlooked as a place to find plot elements, especially if you don’t know that said character is involved with plot.

The results of some plot-related events are briefly mentioned in the mod posts, but it leaves many players confused about what it means for their characters. And the very brief mention that the plot-related events do get in the mod announcements make such achievements feel underwhelming and unconnected to anything else happening. It makes one wonder if progressing the plot really matters here.

Chroma is a small town, and there are relatively few people there. IC-ly, most of the characters could hear about plot-related events and other important happenings in the town through daily interactions. Unfortunately, OOC-ly players cannot follow every thread that happens, nor is every character and/or player able to read the forum consistently.

So we would like to propose that the mods assist us in OOC-ly in updating the entire game on the plot and giving more players easier access to participating in plot-related events. Updates through the monthly announcements are a good start! Or you could also leave a thread open (with a link in the mod's monthly post) for players to report other things that their characters did that affect the whole town.

Thank you for your consideration of these matters.
